Message Board Post:
I'm looking for any information on the lucius family in south carolina.
Daniel F. Lucius was listed in the 1820 Anderson Co. census. The 1840 Anderson Co. census listed Daniel Sr., Daniel and James. In 1843 the Anderson County tax records also lists Daniel, Sr., Daniel and James. I
have been unable to find anything else about them. I'd really appreciate any information anyone has about this family. Thank you, Gloria Lucius

Gloria, Had a look at the 1850 Census on Line at Ancestry and there is a Daniel F. Lucius in Eastern Sub Division, Anderson County, South Carolina on what they say is Page 241. Since I am at a loss to find this page on line (page numbers and actual pages are really beyond me and there is no go to image icon) I would suggest looking at the actual 1850 Census. Anyway, seems he was still there in 1850 at least.
Regards, Georgea in New Zealand

added: 26may2005 - ↑ Senator Ward was born in Mississippi, December 15, 1849. His father,
William A. Ward, was born in South Carolina, in 1808, and moved to Mississippi, where he became a planter and slave owner. He was a colonel in the Mexican war, but was to old for duty as a soldier in the Confederate army. He died in Mississippi in 1872. His wife, Laura Lucius, was born in South Carolina, daughter of Daniel Lucius, a planter and slave owner of that state. She died in Mississippi in 1869, and of her six children Pierce was the fifth.
