Dea. Daniel B. Irish, son of George Irish, Sr., was born in North Stonington, Conn., Feb. 9, 1818, and died in Farina, Ill., April 15, 1896, in the 79th year of his age. When he was about eighteen, his father moved with his family to Hopkinton, R. I. During a great revival under the labors of Eld. Nathan V. Hull, he publicly professed Christ, was baptized by Eld. Russel R. Wells, and joined the First Hopkinton Church. He married, in 1843, Miss Mary Babcock, a daughter of Dea. Elnathan Babcock, and began house-keeping in the town of Westerly, R. I. Thence he moved to Waterford, Conn., identified himself with the Seventh-day Baptist Church of the town, and was ordained as one of its deacons. Here he lived until he settled in Farina, Ill., in 1866, and became a constituent member of the Seventh-day Baptist Church in that village. Here he served acceptably as a deacon until his death. He was a genial, sound-minded, and true counselor.
