MS932, reel 176. # 013360- Daniel Holmes 50, widower, of Barrie married Cordelia Robinson, 35, widow, of Barrie.
Daniel farmed for a short time in Thorah Twp. and by the late 1880's he relocated to Gravenhusrt, where he was section foreman for the railroad. In the 1901 census he and his family were living in Raglan, in East Whitby Twp., where he was a Hotel Keeper, by 1911 after the death of his wife Ann he had moved to Toronto, there he operated a rooming house at 39 Simcoe St. A short time later he moved to Barrie, in Simcoe County, where he was a Hotel Keeper, and remarried. On July 30, 1912 he and most of his children moved to Buffallo,New York, to engage in the Hotel business. He was described as 5'10" tall. with mixed gray hair and gray eyes.
