'Joseph Daniel Fisque, incidentally, though clearly a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Fiske of Lynn and Swansea, is almost certainly not identical with their first child, Joseph ... James L. Hansen, an experienced researcher of French-Canadian records, is convinced that Fisque was named Daniel at birth and acquired the name Joseph in adulthood [citing a letter from James L. Hansen to Jane Fiske, ed. NEHGR, 30 Nov. 1993]. Anyone baptized in the Catholic Church as an adult received a baptismal name.'
