Dale Vernon Gehrt, 82, of Eufaula, passed away June 1, 2014 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Hospital in Muskogee. Dale was born on November 7, 1931, in Havelock, Iowa, the son of Vernon Michael and Emma Cordelia (Maitland) Gehrt. He graduated from Bradgate, Iowa and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. On April 17, 1954, Dale married Delores Ellis. They were married for twenty years. Dale later married Elsie Schertz in 1985. She preceded him in death in 2000. Dale worked for the Hormel Meat Packing Plant for twenty-one years. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include: [names of living individuals have been removed]; his sisters, [names of living individuals have been removed]; his grandchildren, [names of living individuals have been removed] and nine great grandchildren, [names of living individuals have been removed]. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bea Livasy and Mary Larson.
