[thomas-schneider Backup 001.FTW] 12/02/2005 Cyril H. Schneider SANDUSKY -- Cyril H. Whitey Schneider, 101, of Sandusky, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at The Commons of Providence, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 29, 1903, in Sandusky. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Schneider co-owned and operated Emerson-Whitey Music Corp. for many years before retiring. He enjoyed sports, was an avid bowler and fisherman and in his youth had been a notable catcher in the Sandusky City League. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Elks Lodge, all in Sandusky. Survivors include his companion, Genevieve Miller, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cecilia (nee Stick) Schneider; sisters Mary Bolcen and Lillian Schneider; and brothers Charles, Joseph, Frank and Robert Schneider. Friends may call Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers there Monday at 9:30 a.m. will be followed at 10 a.m. by Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave. The Rev. Doug Garand will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870; or Serving Our Seniors, 620 E.
