Davis, 81, of Fancy Gap, Va., passed away Monday, February 23, 2004 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Horton Davis; parents, Jesse and Hassie Martin Davis; two sisters, Iola Goad, Belva Galyean; and brother, Garnett Davis. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jance D. and Garry Jessup, Fancy Gap; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Verna Martin, Hillsville and Ethel and Foy Cruise, Hillsville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Clarissa and Glenn Brinegar and Corey Lineberry; one great-grandson, Brady L. Lineberry; three step-grandchildren, Barry Jessup, Tabitha Smith and Denean Jessup; and two step-great-grandchildren, Dillon Smith and Eustaica Smith. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Horton and Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial followed in the Bobbit-Quesenberry Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Vaughan-Gunn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville. References
