Coy G. Davis, 81, of Fancy Gap, Va., passed away Monday, February 23, 2004 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Horton Davis; parents, Jesse and Hassie Martin Davis; two sisters, Iola Goad, Belva Galyean; and brother, Garnett Davis. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jance D. and Garry Jessup, Fancy Gap; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Verna Martin, Hillsville and Ethel and Foy Cruise, Hillsville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Clarissa and Glenn Brinegar and Corey Lineberry; one great-grandson, Brady L. Lineberry; three step-grandchildren, Barry Jessup, Tabitha Smith and Denean Jessup; and two step-great-grandchildren, Dillon Smith and Eustaica Smith. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 26, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Horton and Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial followed in the Bobbit-Quesenberry Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Vaughan-Gunn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville.
