Facts and Events
Information on the Tyson family has been taken from the book Cornelius Tyson Descendants 1652-1986 by Genevieve A Kerr-Tyson. Cornelius Tyson arrived in Germantown, Pennsylvania in 1684. Germantown was established by German Quakers and Mennonites who purchased land in Pennsylvania from the land grant to William Penn by Charles II. Germantown is NW of Philadelphia. Cornelius is believed to have been a brother of Reynier Tyson, one of the original 13 settlers of Germantown. The Tysons were weavers by trade. Burial: Axe's Graveyard, Concord School Upper Cemetery, Germantown, Pennsylvania References
