Clinton A. Peterson, 80, of St. Paul died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul. Clinton was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Nance County to Floyd and Bessie (Thompson) Peterson.
Clinton was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie "Bonnie" Peterson on July 2, 2008.
Survivors are: son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Joanne Peterson of Acworth, Ga.; daughter, Cindy Tucker of Dubuque, Iowa; five grandchildren; sisters, Lila Pedersen of St. Paul and Doris Page of Sun City, Calif and a host of friends and relatives
Clinton was raised in the Howard, Merrick and Nance County area. He attended school in Howard and Merrick counties. He helped his dad on the farm. Clinton entered the US Army on Feb. 15, 1949. He was honorably discharged on June 17, 1952. Clinton was united in marriage to Marjorie L. "Bonnie" Nerly on March 9, 1952, at Wolbach.
Clinton worked in the Grand Island Ordinance Plant for a couple of years. He also farmed on the Howard & Merrick County line east of Wolbach for a couple of years. He then moved to southeast Iowa and lived for 23 years. Clinton lived in Hannibal, Missouri for 12 years. He moved to St. Paul, Nebraska in 1992 and lived there since.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Betty Pedersen, Bernice Steinke, Beulah Jensen and Letha Barth.
