"Erie Derailment Hurts Seven Persons-Sleeper Overturns at Jamestown,N.Y.- JAMESTOWN, N.Y., Jan. 26-(UP)-Seven persons were injuredseriously, last night when the rear sleeper of the Erie Railroads LakeCities Express left the tracks near Niobe Tower, 13 miles west of here.The victims, all high hill residents, were taken to two hospitals inthis city for treatment. A preliminary report by the railroad said thederailment "was probably caused by a defect on the sleeper car," whichturned over on its side and came to rest on the lines westbound tracks.***ERIE AUTHORITIES said the mainline eastbound tracks were "completelyripped up for several hundred yards" and estimated repairs would take 24hours. The westbound rails were also damaged, but officials said theywould be ready for normal service this morning. Treated at W. C.
