Clarice Agnew, a beauty of the later Hoyt farces, so popular some years ago, who is remembered for her brilliant wit - a sparkling gift which made her noted in her day, quite as much as her loveliness of face and figure, married an American millionaire, Daniel G. Reed [sic] of tinplate wealth, and until the time of her death a few years ago, was very popular with the social elect of Fifth Avenue and Long Island.

30 Nov 1904 - Mrs. Daniel G. Reid. Clarisse Robinson, known to the stage as Clarisse Agnew, and to society as Mrs. Daniel G. Reid, died at her country home at Irvington-on-the-Hudson yesterday after a lingering illness of several months. She was the daughter of a small hotel keeper at Belvedere, Cal., and when sixteen eyars of age went on the stage as a chorus girl, being famed for her personal beauty. This secured for her a place on a Broadway stage, where Mr. Reid, then a widower, first saw her. In September, 1900, they were married, and a year later Mrs. Reid entered society here, the Reids having a town house at 875 Fifth Avenue, though most of their time was passed at their country house at Irvington.
