AN UNTIMELY DEATH

Mrs. Edwin Hitzemann, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Keup, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 30, at 8:15 o'clock.

Clara Bertha Keup was born near Andover, October 12, 1900. After attending school here, she was confirmed in the Lutheran church November 29, 1914, by Rev. A. Senne. She was united in marriage with Edwin Hitzemann, May 26, 1920. The young couple went to Morristown, S. Dak., where they resided a year.

About a year ago they returned to Andover, and began farming in Scotland township. A few weeks ago they moved onto the farm vacated by Gust Battermann. September 19, 1922, Mrs. Hitzemann gave birth to a healthy baby girl, and both mother and child were doing well.

Last Friday, Mrs. H. developed an unexplainable fever; a physician was summoned, and early Saturday Dr. [-illegible-] of Groten was called to consultation but before anything could be done she suddenly passed away.

Deceased leaves to mourn her early departure her young husband, two small children -- Raymond and Lillian -- parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and a host of relatives and friends.

After short services at the house the funeral was held from the Lutheran church, Monday afternoon, Oct. 2, conducted by the Rev. W. F. Dommer. Interment was made in the Andover cemetery.

Mr. Hitzemann is planning on placing his children with his parents and making his home with them in Hammond, Indiana.
