Christopher Arthur Whittaker: Christopher Arthur Whittaker, son of Taylor Whittaker and Lois Elzetta Barton. Born 25 September 1895, at Circleville, Piute, Utah. Married Ada C. Wiley. Died 16 October 1989. Buried at Circleville.

5 March 1898: A horse fell with Chris Whittaker of Circleville yesterday and broke his leg.

5 June 1917: Registered for the draft. Of Circleville; farming for himself. Claims exemption for farming. Medium height, medium build; light brown eyes, dark brown hair.

26 July 1917: 77 Men Called from Piute County by Selective Draft: 10 to be chosen from this list. List of names of persons whose Registration Cards are in the possession of the Local Board, in the order of their liability for military service, as determined by the local board. Christopher A. 25 October 1989: CIRCLEVILLE - Christopher Arthur Whittaker, 94, Circleville, died Oct. 16, 1989, in St. George. He was born Sept. 25, 1895, Circleville, to Taylor and Lois Elzetta Barton Whittaker. He married Ada Catherine Wiley, March 78, 1917, Junction; later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She died Oct. 15, 1945. He married Marie Church Hancock, October, 1953, Henderson, Nev.; she died June 12, 1970. He was a rancher, farmer and dairyman in Piute County. He was an active member of the LDS Church. Survivors: children, Mrs. James (Athene) Cowell, Pebble Beach, Calif.; Howard, Circleville; Mrs. Ken (Jeannine) Chamberlain, Richfield; Mrs. Ray (Nadean) Houston, St. Louis, Mo.; Kelton, Highland; Dee, Washington; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Kent, Circleville; sisters, Mrs. Glen (Neill) Betenson, Circleville; Mrs. Wilford (Cora) Meeks, Kanab. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Circleville First LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Roger Westwood officiating. Dee Whittaker offered the family prayer; Cathy Whittaker played prelude ad postlude music and Brad Houston offered the invocation. Speaker was Ken Chamberlain with remarks by Bishop Westwood. Music included vocal duet by Bill and Howard Horton; piano and flute duet by Shana Savage and Cathy Whittaker and selection by great-grandchildren. Cathy Chamberlain offered the benediction. Interment was in the Circleville Cemetery by Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Richfield, where Richard Chamberlain offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Kent Whittaker, Steven Whittaker, Norman Whittaker, Howard Horton, Richard Chamberlain, Brad Houston, Shannon Whittaker, and Christopher Whittaker. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Patten, Clint Hastings, Jimmy Anderson, Kerry Savage, Warren Fraleigh, Kevin Walker, Taris Al-Taqueeb, Daniel Whittaker.
