Posting by Alex Thompson: "John and Charity's youngest known child was Christopher TINNIN, age 24 in the 1860 Census of Erath Co. TX and 46 in the 1880 Census of the same county, and thus born about 1835, probably in Cape Girardeau Co. MO. Christopher's wife in 1860 was named Katherine, age 25 and born in IL. They had no children, but his nephew William B. TINNIN, Jr. was listed with them, age 5. In the 1880 Census of Erath Co., Christopher was listed with wife Lebicka [Rebecca], age 31 born in IL, with three young sons and a daughter: Robert M (7), George H (5), Charity E (3), and Abraham (2). The widow Rebecca TINNIN was household head in the 1900 Census of Hood Co. TX, who reported she had 7 children, all of whom were living. With her were the additional 3 children: daughter Levana, Walter and Mary (the youngest, b. Nov 1885). Edward L. Williams, in a Post-em to Joyce Brown's Ancestry World Tree site, gives Christopher's full name as Christopher Elijah Jacob TINNIN, b. 22 February 1835, d. 29 May 1890 in Hood Co., TX, married Rebecca Ann PETERS on 16 January 1873."

Another posting by Alex Thompson: "Christopher Tinnin (b. 2/22/1835, d. 5/29/1890, buried Rough Creek Cemetery, Hood Co. TX) had four wives, three of whom he married in Texas after coming from Cape Girardeau Co. MO in the mid 1850s, along with son William B from his first marriage. Here are Christopher's marriage and census records:

Christopher's 2nd marriage was in Collin Co. TX: Christopher E. J. Tinnin & Frances C Armstrong, 5 Jun 1859, Collin Co. TX --- Source: IGI Batch 8202901, Sheet 03 Frances’ middle name was Catherine. They went to Erath Co. TX in time for the 1860 Census: 1860C Beat 4 Erath Co. TX p. 134 fam. 273 [TANNIN in Index] TINNIN, Christopher 24 MO (Farmer $150 $500), --- Katherine 25 IL --- William B 5 MO

Christopher was back in Collin Co. on 10 Jul 1862, when he enlisted as a Private in Martin’s Regt. Texas Cavalry (discharged as a Private on 24 May 1865). Christopher's 3rd marriage was also in Collin Co.: C.J. Tinnin & Mary P Edmonson, 15 Jun 1865, Collin Co. TX --- Source: IGI Batch 8202901, Sheet 03 Mary P was the widow of Eli Edmon(d)son, by whom she had two children listed in the 1860 Census of Collin Co. Mary P's maiden name was Joyce. She married Eli Edmonson on 14 Jul 1856 per Collin Co. Clerk's records. Christopher and Mary moved to Red River Co. TX prior to the 1870 Census:

Note that Missouri-born son William from the first marriage was still with him. All the Texas-born children except Christopher were actually Edmonsons, from Mary’s first marriage. This is the last record found to date for Mary or her son Christopher.

Christopher married his fourth and final wife in Red River Co. From Ancestry.com’s Texas Marriage Collection, 1814-1909 and 1966-2002: Name: Rebecca A. Peters Gender: Female Marriage Date: 13 Jan 1873 Spouse: C. J. Tinnin Marriage city [county]: Red River Marriage State: Texas Source: Texas Marriages, 1851-1900

Prior to Christopher’s death in 1890, the family moved east to Hood Co. TX, in the vicinity of Granbury, where the youngest three of their children were reportedly born. Christopher was buried in the Rough Creek Cemetery of Hood Co., between Granbury and the town of Tolar. A picture of his tombstone (name C. J. Tinnin) can be found on FindAGrave.com. Widow Rebecca’s 1900 Census record shows her with the youngest three children: 1900C Precinct 1 Hood Co. TX p. 220A (ED 91 sheet 11) family 188 TINNIN, Rebecca (widowed Head, 7 ch. 7 living) b.
