He resided in Heidelberg, Bern and Cumru Townships at various times. heremoved himself from Berks Co. about 1785 and was taxed in 1786 in Penn sTownship which is now Union County. ten children are shown on the recordsof Daniel's church and the church at Bernville. Five of them are known tohave died young. 

     On a return for militia officers for Berks Co.  On May 27 1780there is a Christian Gruber with the rank of ensign, commissioned on May10, 1780. He was listed in the 6th Company of the 2nd Battalion of BerksCo.
