He appears to be the first instance of BUERKH documented in the Schwenningen church records. His father (Christian) was from Trossingen, and probably never lived in Schwenningen.

From Axel Bauder: 15 Feb 2006: Christian Bürk who married 23. May 1698 Anna Schlenker (13.Apr.1679, + 17.Feb.1753) was the first Bürk who came to Schwenningen. He was born 01.April 1678 in Trossingen and died in Schwenningen 13.Sept. 1760

He was son of Christian Bürk and Anna Dorothea Maurer, who was Vogt in Trossingen.

Christian Bürk (1678-1760) made an amazing career for a person, who was not born in Schwenningen. He became Vogt in 1721 and was on duty until 1750. It is told, he was one of the richest people in and around Schwenningen.
