MRS. HUMPHREY, 74, PASSES IN IDAHO
Mrs. Charlotte Ann Humphrey, pioneer resident of the Chelan and Soap Lake communities, died at the home of her son, R.E. Humphrey, in Kendrick, Idaho, Friday May 1, according to word received here. Death was caused by pneumonia. Mrs. Humphrey was 74 years of age and had lived in Washington since 1888.
As Charlotte Ann Baxter, she was born September 12, 1856 in Wisconsin and on December 5, 1872 she was married in Minnesota to Wilmot O. Humphrey, who survives her. They came west in 1888, locating in Spokane, later going to Medicot Lake, Wash. and from there to Lake Chelan, where they resided for nine years. They moved to Kendrick, Idaho in the spring of 1927, where they have since made their home with their son, R.E. Humphrey.
Besides her husband, Wilmot O. Humphrey, Mrs. Humphrey is survived by four children: R.E. Humphrey of Kendrick, Ida.; A. W. Humphrey of ?, L.H. Humphrey of Bayview, Ore.; and Mrs. E.L. Horton of Hanford (?), Wash. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Kendrick on Sunday, May 3, with the Rev. L.E. Taher officiating. Burial was made there. The funeral was attended by Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Humphrey of Paleros and Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Horton of Hanford.
