1850 Census (1072): Charlestown, MIDDLESEX, MA, 43, teamster, MA. 1851-03-03 Boston Daily Courier: Sad Accident. Mr. Charles Whitney, well known for twenty years past in Charlestown and vicinity, as a teamster, while unchaining a load of mahogany at Woburn, on Wednesday forenoon [26 Feb 1851], slipped from the load, and a portion of it falling upon him, crushed him so badly that he lived but about two hours. He has left a wife and children.
