© The Buffalo News Inc. TEXT: Services for Charles A. Sigrist, 65, former vice president and controller of Roblin Industries Inc.'s Flangeklamp Division, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3143 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda.

Sigrist died Sunday (July 2, 1989) in Millard Fillmore Hospital.

A Buffalo native, Sigrist graduated from the University of Buffalo, receiving a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1950. He took graduate courses in corporate management at Dartmouth College and received a bachelor of professional studies degree in business administration from the State University of New York Empire College in 1983.

From 1957 to 1971, Sigrist worked for Roblin Industries Inc., being named corporate controller in 1968. From 1971 to 1982, he worked for Roblin's Flangeklamp Division and was eventually named divisional controller and later vice president and controller.

In 1982, Donn Products Inc. of Cleveland acquired Roblin, and Sigrist remained on as Donn's controller until 1983, when Flangeklamp moved its Buffalo operations to Cleveland and Georgia. When he retired, Sigrist held the second highest seniority at Roblin's Buffalo operations.

A World War II veteran, Sigrist served as a navigator and bombardier in the Army Air Forces in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. He was active in the Air Force Reserve until 1963.

Sigrist was active in the Buffalo Skating Club, the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, the National Association of Accountants, the American Management Association and the Financial Executives Institute.

Surviving are his wife, the former Lynette Nelson and their daughter, Emmalynn; two daughters, Darcy McCabe of Rockbridge Bath, Va., and Polly Kurtz of Woodbridge, Va.; five sons, Roger of Maple Shade, N.J., David of St. Paul, Minn., Mark, Tracy, and John, and 16 grandchildren.
