The "Columbian Centinel" newspaper of Boston reported on 23 December 1818:

"The firm of WHITING & SEAVER, is this day, by mutual consent, dissolved. All persons having demands against said firm, are requested to present them for payment; and those indebted, to make payment to CHARLES SEAVER, who is duly authorized to settle the same. JABEZ WHITING, CHARLES SEAVER.

"CHARLES SEAVER continues business at the late firm of Whiting and Seaver, No. 9, Market Square, and has for sale, a general assortment of W.I. GOODS and GROCERIES, Dec. 16."

And in the 21 April 1819 issue of the "Columbian Centinel" in Boston:

"Copartnership formed. The subscribers have formed a connexion to business under the firm of CROCKET & SEAVER, and offer for sale at No. 9, Market Square, a general assortment of W.I. goods and Groceries. GEO. CROCKETT, CHARLES SEAVER, Boston, Feb. 22, 1819."

The first marriage of Charles Seaver was noted in the "Columbian Centinel" newspaper issue of 3 January 1824, noting "Charles Seaver of Crocker & Seaver, m. Susan Catherine Vose in Boston, Thursday."

His second marriage was also noted in the Columbian Centinel" newspaper issue of 36 November 1833, noting "Carles Seaver of Boston, m. Charlotte Webster in Woodsville, 3d inst."

A biography of Charles Seaver was found in the Vose surname book (page 164). It reads:

"He was a member of the firm of Crockett & Seaver of Boston, dealers in West Indies goods, on India Street. His various residences in Boston were on Chambers, Hancock and Atkinson Streets, and again on Chambers Street in 1833, when he purchased a lot with buildings on the east side of the street and lived there until death."

In the 1830 United States census, Charles Seaver was a head of household in the 9th Ward of Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The household included one free white male aged 15 to 20, one free white male aged 30 to 40, one free white female under age 5, one free white female aged 5 to 10, one free white female aged 15 to 20, two free white females aged 20 to 30 and one free white female aged 70 to 80 (1830 United States Census, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, Population Schedule, 9th Ward of Boston, Page 329, FHL Microfilm 0,337,923).

In the 1850 Federal census, the remnant of this family resided in Roxbury, Norfolk County, MA. The household included Charlotte M. Seaver (age 37, $3,500 in real property, born MA) and Martha Seaver (age 16, born MA). [FHL Microfilm 0,443,550, page 180, family #2937].

An obituary for Charles Seaver appeared in the "Columbian Centinel" newspaper dated 29 August 1835, noting that Charles Seaver of Crockett, Seaver & Co., died in Boston on 25 August 1835."
