Charles McClellan Norton served with his brother-in-law, John L. Little, in Company A of the 3rd Regiment. Joseph Roach, a cousin related to Charles Norton's mother, Lovell (Roach) Norton, served in Company D of the 3rd Regiment. Both men died at the battle of Gettysburg in the Civil War.
