    mentions that Charles E. Hudson (Sr.) was a native of Virginia and then moved to Limestone County Alabama after his marriage to Eliza Mealer. The book also states that Charles was a native of Limestone County Alabama, and was reared on a farm. It further states that in 1852 Charles and his wife, Eliza Mealer, 'took up land' in Franklin County, Arkansas. He was described as "a strong temperance man, and took a strong part in the Sons of Temperance, of which he was a member".
