Charles M. Fischer

A stroke of apoplexy which came upon him in his sleep resulted in the sudden death of Charles M. Fischer, aged 47 years, a well-known and very highly regarded resident of Warren, at his home at 209 East Atlantic St., Sunday morning at 5:30. Mr. Fischer had spent a very pleasant evening with his family on Saturday, and with his brother, F.F. Fischer, who expected to leave on Monday on his return voyage to Hawaii, where he is serving as a missionary. During the evening he had spent an hour repairing the mechanism of his radio and at midnight retired with his family. Mrs. Fischer was awakened at an early hour and noticed that her husband was apparently indisposed. He failed to answer when spoken to and when medical assistance was summoned, it was learned that he had passed away before anyone could reach him.
Mr. Fischer was born in Warren on Aug. 11, 1878, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer. He was a machinist and automobile mechanic by occupation, and for the past two years had been a machinist in the Niles Glass works. He was widely known in the city and had many friends who regret to learn of his sudden death and extend their sympathy to his bereaved family. He was a member of the First M.E. church and was affiliated fraternally with the Foresters and the Modern Woodmen of America.
Mr. Fischer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Fischer, three daughters, Elizabeth, Virginia and Mary Katherine, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Wannamaker, Cleveland; Mrs. S.R. Burchall, Lakewood, and a brother, F.F. Fischer, who is engaged in missionary work in Hawaii.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 209 Atlantic st., Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock, when Rev. V.W. Wagar will officiate. Interment will take place in Vernon cemetery.
