Biography
Charles was left an orphan and was raised by a minister and his wife, who treated him badly.
One time when Charles, his wife and three of their children were travelling, they were stopped by Jesse James, of which he gave them a $20 gold piece and a bag of flour. He also held baby Charles Jr.
