Know all men by these presents that we Charles Clayton and William Barns are held and firmly bound unto the Commenwealth of Kentucky in the just and full sum of 50 pound current money of Kentucky which payment will and truly to be made we bind ourselves and heirs do jointly and severally formed by these presents sealed and dated this eleventh day of December 1814. The condition of the above obigation is such when there is a marraige shorty intended to be had and solemized between the above named Charles Clayton and Dorothy Barns. If there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the said intended marriage. Then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
