According to Lillian's family tree, "Charles Keller Brookhart (also No. 47), b. ca. 1810-15, according to Clark Co., Ind. Census of 1820 and 1830, lived in Harrison Co. for a time in the 1830's and owned property there as well as in Clark and Floyd Counties, at various times. He was in his mother's household in 1840. After her death in 1846, he went to Pennsylvania to visit her sister Martha Keller Reamy and and her family in Sinking Valley and Hollidaysburg, Blair County. He was accompanied by his cousin William Keller on this trip to Pa. and return to Ind. and then went back by himself to spend the summer with the Pennsylvania families. Sometime after his return to Indiana, he married Eliza Bowler. Both died while their children were young. Charles K. Brookhart died in the home of his cousin William Keller in New Albany in March 1866. They had three children: Barbara, who died in youth; Henry Clay, who lived in Illinois and later with his family, lived in Howell Co., Missouri; William, also lived hear the Briscoes in Ill., died unmarried." |
