Diane Wilson Flynn (in an email 7 Apr 2000) says: "I was able to obtain the Revolutionary War pension papers of John Pettibone from the National Archives which contain the following information:
"Charity (PETTIBONE) GUNN, b. 18 March 1781 in Simsbury, Hartfor County, Connecticut, was the daughter of John 4 PETTIBONE (John3, John2, John1) and his wife Susannah. John4 Petrtibone was a soldier of the Revolution who "Died in the Town of Simsbury County of Hartford State of Connecticut on the 29th day [sic] of February A.D. 1793 of consumption." Susannah, widow of John Pettibone, m., 2nd, Jonathan PINNEY, also a soldier of the Revolution. The "Said Susannah Pinney died in the Town of Onondaga, in said County and State on the 19th of August A.D. 1839 at the house of one John Pettibone, [and] That the Disease of which She died was debility consequent on old age."
