Wheeler is suspected of copying from various published sources available at the time, in this case, Source:Jackson, James R. History of Littleton New Hampshire, published 9 years earlier, which says p. 3:517, Washington Wheeler m. Celia Houghton, b. Franconia, d. Norwich, VT, Aug 1852. However, Find A Grave has a gravestone in Norwich that says Celia Wheeler died Aug. 1854, and it also gives her birth date 8 Dec 1810 (which makes her a young bride). No birth of Celia is found, nor is the marriage record, but the two death dates seem too coincidentally similar to think the books are referring to a different person. Between this doubt and the young age at marriage, it is hard to tell if this is a different Celia Wheeler mistaken by the books for Washington's wife, or if they are right, just merely sloppy in their reporting.
