Mrs. Catherine Sue Ingle Allen, 66, of 103 Wellington Drive, Mauldin, S.C., died Thursday (August 3, 2006) at her residence.

Mrs. Allen was born February 26, 1940, in Guilford County, N.C., to the late C.B. Ingle and Jennie Hoffman Ingle. She was a graduate of Gibsonville High School. She was retired from Mauldin Elementary School Cafeteria. A member of Mauldin United Methodist Church and the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class.

She was always challenging herself by creating memorable handmade treasures for her family and her friends, but she found fulfillment most in serving others.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Don Allen of the home; son, Todd Allen and wife, Nancy of Simpsonville; daughters, Donna Sue Allen Williams and husband, Donnie of Greer, SC, Amy Dawn Sandifer and husband, Tom of Campobello, SC; brothers, Joe Ingle of Simpsonville, J.B. Ingle and Jerry Ingle of Whitsett, N.C., Tony Ingle of Greensboro, N.C.; sisters, Edna Blythe and Mary Francis Andrews of Whitsett, N.C., Betty Andrews of Concord, N.C., Ann Clarke of Virginia Beach, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Christopher Joel Brown, Denning Catherine Williams, Aaron Daniel Sandifer, Benjamin Thomas Sandifer, Harrison Paul Sandifer, Ryan Todd Allen, Tyler Bond Allen and Hunter Scott Allen.

With special gratitude to our dear hospice nurse, Kelly Johnson,for showing such genuine love, support, understanding and devotion throughout mother's journey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Mauldin United Methodist Church, by Rev. Jerry Temple and Max Benshoof. Interment will be in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the residence. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral services.
