Catherine Mae Weiss August 19, 2013 Catherine Mae Weiss, 79, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013, at Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 415 Main Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 21st at Linn’s Funeral Home 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A Scripture Service will be held at 4:40 Wednesday before visitation and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm following visitation also Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o her son: Ed Weiss, P. O. Box 33, Bagley, Iowa 50026. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Catherine Mae Harlan was born in her parents home in Hardin County, Iowa, the daughter of Hargus and Eunice [Brass] Harlan. She graduated from the Iowa Falls High School with the class on 1941. Catherine was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. as a switchboard operator. On April 28, 1959 she was united in marriage to William Allen Weiss at Galena, Illinois. To this union four children were born: Edward, Robert, Mary Ann, and Thomas. She was a member of Saint Mark Parish, Iowa Falls and the Saint Mark Women’s Guild.

Catherine Weiss is survived by her children: Ed Weiss [Becky Hasty] of Bagley, Iowa, Robert Weiss of Eldora, Iowa, Mary Ann Smith =[Tracy] of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Thomas Weiss of Ottumwa, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two sisters: Rosemary Bailey of Alden, Iowa, and Mikki [Larry] Reynolds of Alden, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents: Hargus and Eunice Harlan; her husband: William Weiss; and three sisters: Ellen Jensen, Rita Smith, and Phyllis Goodrich.
