  7. Death Notice, in Source Needed.

    19 Jul 1821 -
Died at his residence in Baldwin, Mr. Cary Curry, sen., in his 62d year. He was afflicted with a cancer on his face twenty-five years; was confined to his home eighteen months, and survived several months after being deprived of sight, and nose, and all the bones comprising the upper jaw on one side of his face up to the eyebrows. His nutriment for three months previous to his death, was composed of spirits, honey and water. His affliction was severe, but he bore it with fortitude; and smiled on death as a welcome messenger. He was a soldier in the Revolution, and was in the Florida Exposition in '78. He was an orderly citizen, a pleasant neighbor, a kind husband, indulgent parent and humane master. The bosom companion of his early life, the delight of his meridian age, and consolation in affliction, together with numerous offspring, are left to mourn his absence.
But, "Why mourn? the troubled soul is rest, And in the grave our sorrows cease."
