Caroline Young was originally stated to be the daughter of James and Sarah Young of Walford in Herefordshire. However, tracing back from her married life in London, it was found that a much more likely source was the series of census entries in Hertfordshire, both before and after her marriage to Benjamin Walker, plus the marriage entry itself. Rickmansworth, Watford and Sarratt are all very close to each other. The census entries state she was born in Sarratt of parents William and Elizabeth and it would be assumed she would be baptized there. But she was not baptized until she was 2-1/2 and in Birmingham (as daughter of William and Elizatbeth) and her younger siblings were also born in Birmingham. It would appear the family had a sojourn there in between the censuses of 1841 and 1851.
