A few years ago Cheryl Tavernelli and Gordon MacMann exchanged information on the Ancestry Raymond board saying that Caleb was the son of Thomas Raymond

born at Middleborough, MA, in 1728 and that he moved to Plymouth, MA. Sons Stephen born about 1759 and Lemuel born 1763 were also listed. A book "The Raymonds of Plymouth Ponds" was also mentioned, but I have not been able to find it.

Seeking more documentation that ties this all together. Other than "the name is the same," how do we know that the Caleb who married Lavina was the Caleb born in Middleborough and the Caleb who moved to Plymouth?

Hello, Caleb Raymond who married Lavina Arnold is listed number 30 in "Raymond Genealogy - Descendants of John and William Raymond" (Samuel Edward Raymond, 1972). It gives as sources Smithfield RI Vital Records, Mayflower Descendants books, and pension file of son Stephen Raymond.

He is the earliest known Caleb in this Raymond line.
