    Burton Benjamin Crandall, 88, of 32 Northside Drive, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 1994, at his home.
    He was born Aug. 16, 1906 in Rawlins, Wyo., the only child of Benjamin and Matilda (Fogg) Crandall. His early years were spent in Idaho and California. He graduated from the University of California in Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in economics, obtained a masters in business administration from Harvard University, and a doctorate from American University in Washington, D.C. He was an Associate Professor of Economics at Alfred University, Alfred, N.Y., from 1930-1946. He was an associate professor of transportation and business administration at Syracuse University, N.Y, from 1946-1962 then moved to Milton and became chairman of the economics and business administration department of Milton College from 1962-1965. He was professor of business administration at the State University of New York at Alfred from 1965-1977. He moved back to Milton College as professor of business administration until 1981. His 100th semester of college teaching was at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater in the fall of 1983.
    Crandall was married to Carol Davis on Feb. 15, 1939. She predeceased him in 1989. He was a past member of Milton Kiwanis and was a member and deacon of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church.
    Burton is survived by four children: Barbara (Herbert) Saunders, Milton; David (Henrietta), Clifton Forge, Va; Brandon, Milton; Stephen (Patricia), Alfred, N.Y.; American Field Service student/family member Yutaka (Margareta) Horiba, New Orleans, La.; grandchildren: Brian (Heidi) Saunders; Peggy (Carl) Sorenson; Michael (Heather) Saunders; Benjamin (Kimberly) Crandall, Jesse Crandall, Adam (Kelly) Crandall; Nathan, Heather, Katherine, Philip and Aaron Crandall, Naomi Horiba, three great-grandsons Aaron and Nicholas Saunders and Alexander Crandall, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Brian.
    A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at the Alfred Rural Cemetery.
    Memorials can be made to Hospice Team Care, Janesville or the Seventh Day Baptist Ministerial Retirement Fund. Albrecht Funeral Home assisted the family.
