Mrs.. Blanche Wagoner Shoffner, 87, of Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 4:16 a.m. following one week of declining health.

Mrs.. Shoffner was a native of Guilford County. For 59 years, she was the loving wife of Clive H. Shoffner, who passed away in January, 2005. She was the daughter of Lacy Turner Wagoner and Ruth Barker Wagoner, both deceased. She was a graduate of Elon College. While she was at Elon, she was selected by her peers as May Queen. She was an elementary school teacher prior to her marriage. Mrs.. Shoffner was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, a former Sunday school teacher, and a former president of the Women of the Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs.. Rosalind Shoffner D’Onofrio and husband, Dominic G. D’Onofrio, of Wilmington, Delaware; a brotherin-law, Retired Col. Winfred H. Meibohm of Cedar Hill, Texas; and a niece, Mrs.. Mary Meibohm Chambless of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs.. Rebecca Wagoner Meibohm.

The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Suzanne Shoffner. Burial will follow the service in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
