Also listed on this census records is Vaughnie's "mother in law." She is listed as Nannie Dixon, widowed, age 69, born in Missouri with both parents from Missouri. Blanche is the granddaughter of Jacob Dixon and Nancy Simmons and this 'Nannie' is most likely Nancy Simmons Dixon. The information isn't strictly accurate for her, but since Blanche's mother is above Blanche on the same census page living with her husband, Arthur L. Cowan, there must have been an error concerning 'Nannie.'

In 1920 Blanche Dixon was listed as "Blanche Cowan", a daughter to Arthur Cowan and Mary Ellen Dixon, but she is listed as "Dixon" when living with her Dixon grandparents and mother in 1910. Blanche's biological father has yet to be found.
