[edit] Beulah Leola WadeBeulah Leola Wade was born November 22, 1908 in Mayo, Lafayette County, Florida. Beulah was the third of seven children of Flora McInnis and Oglethorpe T. Wade. Beulah’s nineteen month old baby brother died in August of 1912. Beulah’s mother, her 3 year old baby brother and her 3 month old baby sister died in a railroad crossing accident when a train hit their car on April 6, 1919. So Beulah experienced much tragedy in her early life. Beulah did have an older sister and brother and another younger brother who survived and they were very close.
[edit] Frank Bourie and Beulah Wade MarriageOn December 23, 1923, Beulah Leola Bourie married Frank Bourie, Sr. in Dixie County, Florida. Frank Bourie was about 12 years older than Beulah’s father, O.T. Wade, but they were good friends. Frank and Beulah had nine children. Five are deceased. Three daughters and a son are living in Florida. Beulah lived in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida many years near her children and their families. When she was unable to care for herself any longer, she moved back to her birthplace in Mayo where she lived in a small Nursing home close to her oldest daughter and youngest son. Beulah Leola Wade Bourie died July 30, 1999 in Mayo, Lafayette County, Florida. Beulah is buried next to her husband, an infant daughter, and her father and mother in Wayfare Cemetery in Mayo. Mrs. Bourie was a native of Mayo, Florida, living in Jacksonville since 1941. She was a member of Hollyford Baptist Church, Jacksonville, and Rebecca's Lodge also in Jacksonville. She was the daughter of the late O.T. Wade and the late former Flora McInnis. She was pre-ceeded in death by a son Frank Bourie, Jr. 2 daughters Connie Holmes and Wanda Bourie, and her husband of 28 years, Frank Bourie, Sr. She is survived by 1 son Wade Bourie, Mayo, 5 daughters Alice Abbott, Mayo, Betty Meunier, Agnes Jarrett and Pat Tanck, all of Jacksonville and Joan Lane of Valrico. Two brothers, Marvin Wade, Live Oak, James Wade, Orlando, one sister, Ann Ruth Greene, Live Oak, 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday August 2, 1999 at the Joe P. Burns Funeral Chapel, Mayo, Florida, with Rev. Jack Connell and Rev. Logan Whalen officiating. Interment will follow at Wayfare Cemetery, Mayo. Family will receive friends Sunday, August 1 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home in Mayo. Joe P.
