DEATH: Obituary: Eddy, Bessie D. March 1944 Mrs. Bessie D. Eddy, 64, of Kendallville, died suddenly March 22 in the Harrison Hotel, Chicago, while enroute with her daughter, Mrs. C. W. Johnson, to Cocoanut Grove, Florida to attend the graduation of the latter's daughter. Mrs. Johnson had driven to Chicago where they were to board the train south. Deceased was a life-long resident of Noble County and was born near Albion, the daughter of Robert and Emma Bruce, and was married in 1897 to Albert Eddy and to this union was born 5 daughters and 2 sons. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and had many close friends and was of pleasing personality. The husband, a daughter, and son preceded her in death. Rev. H.W. Mountz officiated at the funeral service and burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Kendallville.
