BERNIE DAVIS PASSES AWAY AT LARAMIE
Mrs. Everette Swanson Attends Brother's Funeral Last Week
Bernie Davis, 58, a well-known resident of the Greybull community, passed
away June 6 at Laramie from a heart ailment after an illness of about a
    month.
Mrs. Everette Swanson left for Laramie after receiving the sad news of her
brother's death, to attend the funeral.
Mr. Davis was captain of the guards at the state penitentiary, a position
he had held for some time.
During the early days of this community, Mr. Davis operated a stage from
Basin to Shell over the badlands long before the bridge was constructed over
the Big Horn River at Greybull.
He was born at Chula, Mo., the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Davis.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Laramie and the
Masonic lodge of that city had charge of the services at the grave.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter; six brothers and two
    sisters.
Mrs. Swanson of Greybull, and a brother, Park Davis of Steamboat Springs,
Colo., were the only relatives able to attend the funeral because of travel
    restrictions.
