    An Old Citizen Gone
STILLMAN --- Benjamin Irish Stillman was born at Lincklean, New York, July 24, 1833, and died Nortonville, Kansas, October 26, 1904, of Bright's disease, with complications.
Mr. Stillman became a Christian at an early age and united with the S.D.B. church at West Hallock, Illinois. On coming to Kansas in 1884, he removed his membership to the church of his faith in this place where it remained at the time of his death.
His first location in Kansas was on a farm on the "Lane," adjoining the farm of Rev. Isaac Maris, but for several years he has lived in Nortonville.
In 1863 he was married to Miss Parmille Marsh at Verona, New York, who died in 1868. On April 13, 1870 he was married to Mrs. Rachel Carter Sirlott at Chillicothe, Illinois, who died at Nortonville in July 1899. Their little girl died in 1880 at the age of six years.
Since the death of her mother Miss Jessie Sirlott has kept house for Mr. Stillman and in his last illness faithfully and tenderly ministered to his needs. The funeral was held today, in the S.D.B. church at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Pastor Hills, assisted by Pastor Adell of the M. E. Church, also Rev. G. M. Cottrell of Topeka, Kansas, and the Rev. Isaac Maris of the Lane.
The relatives present from out of town were Mrs. Emma Groom, of Wilmot, Kansas, and Mrs. Minnie Sims of Shatuck, Oklahoma.
