    According to family lore, the Benjamin Lewin family and Taber family knew each other while they were still in London, England. In 1830, Benjamin Lewin and family lived at 274 Spring Street, down the street from 296 Spring Street, the address the Thomas Taber family first moved to. James Taber, confectioner married Maria Lewin. His confectioer's shop was at the Lewin 274 Spring Street address in 1836.
