Fairweather, Benjamin, s. of John. Cornet of Troop, Fairfield County, May 1717. Although his birth is not found in Boston records, he was undoubtedly son of John Fairweather of Boston, prob. by his first wife Sarah Turner (dau. of Robert), and grandson of Thomas Fairweather. The name was often spelled Fayerweather. His son Joseph in his will 1732 called Capt. John Fairweather of Boston his uncle. Married Sarah, widow of Ephraim Wheeler, dau. of Capt. Matthew Sherwood. She was b. abt. 1676, m. (3) Anthony Nouquier, and d. 25 May 1743 in 67 yr. (g. s., Stratfield). He d. 6 [--] 1725 in [--] yr. (g. s., Stratfield). Will 20 Aug. 1725, proved 2 Nov. 1725; wife Sarah, Exec'x; sons John, Joseph, Thomas, Benjamin; daus. Penelope, Sarah, Mary. Agreement of John Fairweather of Stratfield (for himself and bro. Joseph dec'd, whose right he purchased) with bros. Thomas of Norwalk and Benjamin, with regard to 1,300 acres at Merryall given by will of Mr. Benjamin Fairweather to his four sons; Sarah Fairweather signed with him; 23 Aug. 1737.
