[Note: no birth record is found in Wayland or Sudbury, and it is believed the birth given is calculated from the age at death. However, since the age at death does not specify "0 d.", it is not felt it can be assumed to be precise to the day. On the other hand, both the death record and the Dudley Genealogy say his mother is Mary, while it seems probable this source is correct that it was Sybil, as Benjamin Dudley married Sibel Steves in Wayland (int.) 1793 and she is mentioned in her father's will of 1803 as "Sibble Dudley". The Dudley Genealogy almost appears to have lost a generation because a man b. 1741 is older than would be expected to be having children in 1799 and after.]
