The Panama Baptist Church of Panama NY records state that

"received Bro. Benjamin and Rhoda Dowd from Baptist Church in Hume" on December 7, 1845 by letter dated November 16, 1845 and signed B.F. Carr, Clerk.

May 22, 1849 Paid $3.00 for the bell subscription Jan. 26, 1851 Delegate to an oridinationcouncil at Wattsburg Church Jan. 8, 1853 On committee to engage a sexton for the coming year and to raise by subscription if practicable to pay him for his ervices.

March 15, 1855 On motion of Bro. B. H. Dowd resolved that we give Eld. J. Drake an invitation to continue his relation as Pastor for another year.

Aug. 19, 1855 Delegate to the Harmony Association at Mayville. Dec.25, 1859 At a meeting of the First Baptist Church and Society of Panama held at the Presybterian House in Panama to take the necessary steps towards rebuilding their House of Worhsip which was destroyed by fire on the 25th. A motion was made by Bro. Benjamin Dowd that two of the Building Committee be appointed from the Society. Third meeting (between Jan. 3 & Jan. 17, 1860) On motion of Bro. Dowd the size of House be left with Building Committee.

Jan. 17, 1860 After some discussion a motion was made by Bro. Dowd to reconsider that partof the plan adopted at a previous meeting which had reference to a steeple in center and place it on the corner leaving the front straight & projecting one foot on side. Carried.

Dec. 31, 1860 Resolved that we sell the slips in the auditorium room of the church to the highest bidder on the first day of Jan. next.

Jan. 1, 1861 Slip No. 9 offered for sale and sold to Benjamin Dowd (bid by Jim Hindson) for $95. Aug. 1, 1861 Delegate to attend Harmony Association.

Nov. 4, 1871 Dismissed Bro. B. H. Dowd and Sister Rhoda Dowd by letter. Also Wm. Dowd and Franklin Dowd.

March 3, 1877 Covenant Meeting. Received by letter Bro. B. H. Dowd from Union City Baptist Church. Letter Oct. 11, 1876 and signed Albert P. Wilkins, Clerk.
