Inventory of Real Estate, £216-00-00. Taken 4 March 1698-9 by Jonathan Boreman and Jonathan Belding. On the 5th day of March, 1697-8, Mrs. Martha Terry, formerly Martha Crane, Widow of Benjamin Crane,Jr., Decd, personally appeared ... and presented the Invt. of Houseing and Lands at Hartford.

Benjamin, Jr.,2 (Benj.,1) b. [1 Mch. 1656-6](see fam of Benjamin, Sr. entry); m. 12 May, 1686, Mary Chapman (prob. dau of Edward, of Windsor), who d. 5 Sept. 1687, ae 22; he m. (2) Martha (dau of Samuel & Mary Betts) Boardman; he was drowned 20 June 1693; his wid. m. (2) 5 Jun 1697-8, Samuel Terry, of Enfield, Ct., and d. 1743, se. 77, having had 5 sons and a dau by her Terry husband. Benjamin's estate was invent.. 1693, at £55-13-10; he was a tanner; his life, tho' brief was samewhat eventful; he was one of the Weth. men most active in opposing the usurpation of Gov. Andross in 1687-90 and his outspokeness led to an attempt to arrest hi under a special writ entrusted to a person (not a civil officer) with a file of soldiers, who broke into his house but failed to find him., tho they greatly endangered the life of his wife, who was, at the time, enciente.
