Barbara J. (Lawson) Romano ROMANO, BARBARA J., (LAWSON) 81 - of Cape May Point, died peacefully at home on Tuesday morning (October 28th) with her family by her side. Mrs. Romano was born in Port Chester, NY, and formerly lived in the New York area. Her family have been longtime summer residents of Cape May Point and retired here permanently in 1977. She and her husband were also winter residents of Brooksville, Fla. She was a member of the Cape May United Methodist Church. She was a member and Past President of the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter in Westchester, NY. She was a member of the Cape May Point Civic Club. She loved her family, block parties, and baking and stocking the freezer with her cookies. She enjoyed cooking and delivering a meal to someone in need. She loved to dance, and could cut a mean rug. Mrs. Romano was predeceased by a son, Michael Romano, in 1986. She is survived by: her beloved husband of 57 years, Anthony M. Romano; two daughters, Christi (and Les) Stephens, of Ilion, NY, and Michele Elliott, of Avalon; a son, Peter (and Sue) Romano, of West Grove, Pa; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Nov. 1st, at 11 AM, in the Cape May United Methodist Church, 625 Washington St., Cape May. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 AM to 11 AM in the Church.
