"Calhoun Chronicle" - Grantsville, WV AUSTIN AYERS 5/20/1999 Austin E. Ayers, 74, of Clarington, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 13, 1999, at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire, Ohio. He was born in Grantsville, the son of the late Iva and Ruth Freshour Ayers. He was retired from Ohio Ferro Alloy Corp., Clarington. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5565, Powhatan Point. He was a Protestant. Surviving are one son, Austin E. Ayers, Jr., of Clarington; two daughters, Joyce Starkey of Woodsfield and Lena Vallelonga of Powhatan Point; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several cousins in Calhoun County. He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Johnson. Services were held at Rush Funeral Home, Clarington. Burial was in Clarington Cemetery. (Norma Knotts Shaffer)
