Aurie E McBride, 1875-1949 (The 1875 year is wrong. Her brother was born on Apr 1, 1875, 10 mos after his parents married, as proved by his headstone in Fairview Cemetery, She could have been born no earlier than 01/01/1876, but her birthdate is Aug 21, so 08/21/1876 is the birthdate used. She would have been the young child mentioned in the Homestead papers.)

The tombstone only has years, not dates. Date of birth per headstone in dispute, because it conflicts with brother William's.

OBITUARY: MRS. E. J. MCBRIDE: Aurie E. Taylor, daughter of Edwin M. and Hulda S. Taylor, was born in Summit Township, Cloud County, Kansas, August 21, 1876, and died at her home east of Jamestown, Kansas, January 25, 1949 at the age of 73 years, 5 months, and 4 days. (Note: These two dates calculate to an age of 72-5-4.)
She was married to E. J. McBride, October 12, 1898, and they established their home just east of Jamestown, where they have lived for fifty years, being permitted to celebrate their Golden Wedding last October.
Mr. and Mrs. McBride were the parents of eight children, six of whom survive. Mr. McBride died November 21, 1948. A son, Edwin, died in 1930 and an infant son died at the age of five months.
The death of Mrs. McBride takes another highly respected citizen of the community, a devoted wife and mother, a kind and understanding neighbor and friend, who went out scattering sunshine, not only in her home, but whereever duty called her. She was a charter member of the Jamestown Order of the Eastern Star and a Past Matron, also a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, January 29, at the Jamestown Methodist Church at two o'clock. Rev. Leonard A. Clark officiated at the services and the music was provided by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Wilson, Mrs. R. H. Turner, and Mr. R. H. Scanland and a vocal solo by Mrs. Jess Carr, accompanied by Miss Rosalee Vincent. Serving as casket bearers were Moody Paulsen, M. R. Semans, Fred Ansdell, T. C. Porter, Roy Layton, and Raymond French. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery."
