August Kadlec Services Held Funeral services for August G. Kadlec, 40, were held from the Schultz Funeral home Monday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Luke Donlon officiating. He was buried with military honors in St. Wenceslaus cemetery by Clayton County Amvet Post No. 27. He was born the son of Joseph Kadlec and Anna Lestina Kadlec Oct. 9, 1908. He attended the rural schools before going to farm work. He entered the army March 4, 1942, being discharged Sept. 19, 1945. He reenlisted in the army Aug. 20, 1946, receiving his discharge July 22, 1949, serving three years in Japan. While preparing to return home after his discharge, he suffered a heart attack at Tacoma, Wash., and never regained consciousness. He died Aug. 4. He is survived by his father, stepmother, a daughter, Marion, two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Lydia) Barke of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. Raymond (Darlene) DeSotel of Monona; and four brothers, Ray and Elheart of Milwaukee, Wis., Fred of McGregor and George of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother Joseph, a sister Anna, and his wife Olive. Pallbearers were: Ray, Fred and Elheart Kadlec, Raymond DeSotel and Leslie and Alois Kadlec. Image Gallery
