The book "History of Brookline, Formerly Raby, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, with Tables of Family Records and Genealogies" by Edward E. Parker, published by the Town, provides a short biography of Asa Seaver. It reads (page 613):

"(V) ASA SEAVER, second child and second son of Robert and Hepzibah (Gilson) Seaver, was born at Brookline, Apr. 12, 1816. He was a farmer and cooper. With the exception of a few years in the forties, during which he resided on Townsend Hill, his life was passed in his native town. He was a reputable citizen, and a member of the local M.E. church. He m. May 1, 1839, Rebecca, dau. of John and Rebecca Hutchinson. He d. in Brookline Mar. 22, 1905; his wife d. Mar. 3, 1905."

In the 1860 US Census for New Hampshire, the Asa Seaver family resided in Brookline, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. The family included Asa Seaver (age 44, cooper, born NH, real property of $1,200, personal property of $500), Rebecca H. Seaver (age 44, wife, born NH), Theresa M. Seaver (age 17, domestic, born NH), and Josephine R. Seaver (age 15, born NH) (LDS Microfilm 0,803,673, page 262, house #49).

In the 1870 US census, the Asa Seaver family resided in Brookline, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. The household included Asa Seaver (age 55, works at cooping, $1,200 in real property, $3,500 in personal property, born NH), Rebecca Seaver (age 55, keeping house, $500 in personal property, born NH), Theresa Seaver (age 27, teacher, $500 in personal property, born NH) and Josephine Seaver (age 25, at home, $500 in personal property, born MA) (LDS Microfilm 0,552,341, page 55, dwelling #49, family #53).

In the 1880 US census for New Hampshire, the Asa Seaver (age 64, born NH, laborer, father and mother born NH) family resided in Brookline, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. The family included his wife Rebekah Seaver (age 64, born NH, keeping house, father born MA, mother born NH), daughter Josephine R. Seaver (age 35, born MA, at home), daughter Theresa M. Abbott (age 37, born NH, at home), step-granddaughters Alice M. Abbott (age 19, born MA, at school) and Mary L. Abbott (age 17, born MA, at school), and grandson George H. In the 1900 US census, this family resided in Brookline, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. The household included Asa Seaver (white, male, born Apr 1816, age 84, married 61 years, born NH, parents born NH, no occupation, owns house free of mortgage), wife Rebeckah Seaver (white, female, born Dec 1815, age 84, married 61 years, 6 children born, 3 living, born NH, father born MA, mother born NH), daughter Theresa M. Abbott (white, female, born Oct 1842, age 57, widowed, 6 children born, 1 living, born NH, parents born NH), grandson George H. Abbott (white, male, born Oct 1876, age 23, born SC, father born VT, mother born NH) and daughter Josephine R.
